Mr
Afzal has been a member of the GTI British
TKD team for the pass 10 years and has competed in
over 100 tournaments and has fought and trained with
some of the best fighters worldwide..
My name is Afzal
and I am 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo
with Global Taekwondo International (GTI).
I began training
in martial arts in 1987.
The first martial art I practiced was Goyararu which
now is called Tetsudo, after two years I was introduced
to a kickboxing club. This particular class students
lacked discipline and techniques so I moved on.
I searched for
a good TKD club and was lucky to join Mr Tony Sewell’s
club in Derby in 1990. I started to teach as an assistant
instructor in 1993 with Mr Sewell.
After getting
my black belt I started a club in South Yorkshire.
I passed this club on after 2 years and started a
TKD club in Derby’s Fitness First. Now I have a successful
club with over a dozen black belts and several British
Champions.
I have trained
and graded with some of the well known champions and
masters in the world.

have enjoyed my journey through TKD as it kept me
well balanced through life.
Future Goals
To pass on my knowledge of the martial arts to other
individuals and to keep absorbing more ideas from
all of the martial arts (There is always room for
improvement).
My goal is
to become a World TKD Champion with a successful TKD
class in the Midlands. |
